Imagine a place where people don't think tomorrow is just another day, but instead are excited to see what this new day will bring and what they can bring to it. You can go to sleep at night knowing that when you wake up your family is safe.

You can talk to your neighbor, work colleague, aunt, uncle, cousin and friend and know that nothing will be said behind your back and that your motives or intentions will not be questioned. When you have a new idea, a dream, and an opportunity at least ten people around you say, "Yes! I believe in that too and I believe in you."

There is real leadership because everyone sees they have a contribution to make that is valued and respected. A leader is just another part of the community, as important and necessary as other roles. It is a place where non violence as action comes from the heart and not just from when people donate money.

When you make a mistake and step into destructive cycles, the community around you is supportive and reminds you of all that you have accomplished. It is a place where self expression does not invalidate your identity, because being Palestinian is imprinted on your heart. You do not choose it, it is you.

Where a land that, once upon a time, held so much blood and tears is now nurtured and cared for by the young people, as they truly understand how an olive tree connects with their identity.

It is a place where individual and collective grief is insight into how to make life better, and not a fear of what may happen to you next. People from all around the world come to see Palestine. Not to feel pity or compassion but to learn from and experience the peacefulness, hospitality, beauty, and honor of the people and their openness towards others.

It is a place where in the media it is shown as an example of how to live peacefully side by side with what were once enemies. Where there was once a hope for a better future in this land, there is now a hope that the rest of the world be a place as beautiful and peaceful as a place called Palestine.
